My Kind of Town: Chicago! Join Me for MOUG’s 2016 Conference on August 12th

MOUG_LogoI’m excited to be presenting at the Midwest Oracle User Group’s (MOUG) 2016 Conference this coming August 12, 2016. This marks the very first time that my schedule has aligned with MOUG’s premier technical event. And I’m especially humbled to be invited by one of my personal heroes in the world of Oracle: Chicago’s very first Oracle ACE Director, the renowned Rich Niemiec. Rich always draws a crowd whenever he speaks because of his deep IT industry expertise as well as his unique perspective on the future of computing.

I’m honored to be a part of an effort to expand the Oracle Database knowledge of everyone in attendance. The meeting fee is just $50. My two topics focus on Oracle Database 12c:

Analyze This! Practical Examples of Oracle Analytical Functions

I’ll discuss some of the hidden gems of 12c Database analytical functions and features that make short work of answering difficult queries, including some neat code examples and techniques to analyze unseen patterns in data.

Migrating and Upgrading to Oracle Database 12c Quickly with Near-Zero Downtime

Whether you’re migrating data to Oracle Database 12c or deciding how to best upgrade an existing pre-12c database to 12cR1, it’s important to know all of your options. Join me as I discuss some of the obvious as well as lesser-known techniques to migrate and databases – either in whole, or just chunks at  a time! – quickly, effectively, and with confidence.
