My colleagues at Hotsos have humbled me again: I’ve been chosen once again to present at Hotsos Symposium – one of the most concentrated bunch of Oracle database performance tuning experts in North America – in Dallas, TX during the week of February 28, 2017.
For the first time ever, I’ll have two sessions at Hotsos. My first session – titled Oracle 12cR2 Database In-Memory: Adventures with SwingBench TPC-DS – will show how Oracle 12cR2’s latest Database In-Memory features can make a serious progressive impact on complex queries. It’ll also be the first time that I’ll publicly demonstrate the latest version of the venerable Swingbench utility which now offers the capability to simulate a scaleable version of of the TPC-DS benchmark against an Oracle database. I’ve been honored to work with Dominic Giles, Swingbench’s original author, to develop and extensively test this latest version of that tool since mid-2016.
My second session – Stop Guessing, Start Analyzing: New Analytic View Features in Oracle Database 12cR2 – will show you how to take advantage of a brand-new set of features that makes extremely short work of building complex analytic queries against fact and dimension tables with the creation of only a few simple database objects.
So if you are in the neighborhood of Dallas during the first week of March, please register and attend for this most excellent conference! I hope to see you there.
